As we get ready to reopen our three early care and education centers on Monday, July 13th, Hope Street has been carefully preparing to ensure the health and safety of our students, families and staff. Hope Street’s centers serve children of essential workers and our reopening will enable parents to return to work, assured that their children are safe and well cared for.
Dr. Sheila Phillips, a retired pediatrician and Hope Street Advisory Board member, helped develop our reopening plan and recently spoke with staff about COVID-19. This is a challenging time for all of us, especially young children who have little understanding of the pandemic and why they haven’t been able to come to school. Dr. Phillips encouraged staff to view this as a learning opportunity to equip our children with accurate information about COVID-19 and how to stop the spread of the virus. She noted, “Children will feel empowered and can act as little messengers to their families and community."
We have missed our children and families and look forward to welcoming them back to Hope Street!
