This morning, Hope Street Margolis Family Center and its director, Vickie Kropenske, proudly welcomed Governor Gavin Newsom as he met with the children and parents in our Early Childhood Education Program. Governor Newsom recognized Hope Street Margolis Family Center’s program as a model to replicate throughout California.
“I’ve done hundreds of these types of tours; I have never seen a program like this anywhere in the state of California,” remarked Governor Newsom.
Joining the Governor’s tour of Hope Street was California’s first Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, California State Senator Holly Mitchell, California State Assembly Member Miguel Santiago, and Deputy Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency for Early Childhood Development, Kris Perry.
